Good Faith Estimate

If you don’t have insurance, or choose not to use it, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before your visit. This estimate covers the cost of items and services reasonably expected for your care, including related tests, procedures, and any recommended equipment.

You can request an estimate before scheduling or at any time. If your final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you have the right to dispute it. Save a copy of your estimate for your records. For more information, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.
